Soy & It’s Potentially Harmful Side Effects…

They have conveniently ignored the existent soy risks. So what exactly are the different soy side effects?

Phytic Acid Content

Soy contains large quantities of phytic acid, which when introduced into the body after consumption, prevents the body from absorbing essential minerals and vitamins in the digestive tract. This can conduce to several deficiencies and health problems even though the person is consuming a diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals.

Absorption of minerals like calcium, iodine, iron gets hampered and these essential and important minerals are for the proper functioning of our body.

Hormone Supplier

Soy contains high amounts of plant compounds that are similar to the female hormone estrogen called phytoestrogens.

Often post-menopausal women take soy products in order to control hot flashes and problems associated with hormonal imbalances. Thus, here we see that soy furnishes our body with hormones.

However, what about babies, children and young women who do not require this hormone addition? The extra hormone content could trigger early puberty in children, which may conduce to cancer. Young women consuming a lot of soy are at a greater risk of breast cancer.

They hailed it as a wonderfood.

Soya not only destroys forests and small farmers - it can also be bad for your health

Anderson's 'eureka' moment arrived when a complex analysis of the samples she was working on revealed that the seminal liquid surrounding the slower-moving sperm contained chemicals called isoflavones. These compounds are also known as phyto-oestrogens or plant-oestrogens because they mimic oestrogen, the powerful female hormone.

These highly active compounds are found in large concentrations in soya. Indeed such are the doses of these chemicals, a woman drinking two glasses of soya milk a day over the course of a month will see the timing of her menstrual cycle alter. It has been estimated that infants who are fed soya formula exclusively receive an amount of oestrogen equivalent to five birth control pills every day.
